March brings us Spring Break, Green Beer, and March Madness! Next Friday, my family is joining other Scouts on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are staying at the Kilauea Military Camp (link) at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (link). After roughing it for three days, we drive over to Kona to stay at the Outrigger Resort (link). I expect to be offline so this week's contests will extend through Saturday, March 17. I'll announce the winners on Sunday, March 18. I have preset posts to publish in my absence ... but Blogger can be temperamental!
MARCH MADNESS is now underway with Elise Rome at www.eliserome.com. Each day, she features a post from an "indie" author, historical author, contemporary author, paranormal author, and a reader/blogger. In fact, I am a guest on March 19 with Jennifer from Romance Novel News - we engage in a "dueling" discussion about Amanda Usen's SCRUMPTIOUS.
March Madness continues here at SOS Aloha! Today I celebrate the second anniversary of my blog! It began as an online newsletter for SOS America in 2009. After moving to Hawaii, friends encouraged me to make the jump to bloggersphere. When "SOS America" was not available in Blogger, I adopted SOS Aloha to give it my own unique stamp ... and share the Aloha spirit!
Today I am giving away a book choice to one randomly selected commenter.
What are you doing for Spring Break? Today's giveaway is open to all readers. Comments are open through Saturday, March 17, 10 pm in Hawaii. I'll post the winner on Sunday, March 18.
Mahalo,
Kim in Hawaii
Here's the bonus - all commenters to my blogs in March will be entered into a special drawing for prizes from RT in Chicago:
3 US, 3 Canadian, and 3 international readers
will win a package with books and goodies.
Comments can be made at:
- SOS Aloha, www.sosaloha.blogspot.com
- Aloha On My Mind, www.alohaonmymind.blogspot.com
- My guest posts at the Reading Reviewer (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) at www.marygramlich.blogspot.com
I'll post the winners of March Madness on Monday, April 2.

Happy 2nd Anniversary to SOS Aloha and to you, Kim. Thanks for all the fun and interesting posts and the giveaways. I don't have any plans yet for spring break.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your anniversary! Hopefully I will find a few days to celebrate my birthday since last year was a milestone and due to some upheavals in my life I didn't really celebrate it. (-: I will try to make up for lost time and stretch out the festivities. It gets a little tricky since my MIL and I share a birthday!
ReplyDeleteA big congratz on your anniversary !And thanks so much for the info on the March Madness contest (it is my birthday on the 19 th of March so I love it when awesome contests like these pop up for March it makes me remember that March is a awesome month). ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! I hope there are many more to come. I really enjoy reading your blogs because you share not only your book reviews, but also give an insight into Hawaiian culture.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Kim on 2 years. You have such an incredible blog and content that I know it'll be around for a lot more years.
ReplyDeleteI love March Madness. I'm celebrating a big one on the 12th. For Spring Break I'll be doing nothing really special or different. When I was a lot younger and lived in Florida we were overwhelmed with Spring Break.Loved the crowds and noise as only the young can. :)

Happy 2nd Anniversary. Congrats Kim on having such a wonderful blog. And have a great time on the trip with your family. As for me, even though I'm in school right now, we don't have a spring break. The rest of the university does, but I'm in a paralegal program that just keeps going right on through spring break...but we do finish school at the end of April, so I'll take my break then! :)
ReplyDeletehappy anniv :D hope its a great start to another great year. No spring break here though would be happy of the spring weather would arrive and stay for a while.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your second anniversary - how wonderful for you and for us! I know I've only been following you for about 6 months and I have thoroughly enjoyed every post and learned so much. And I've gotten to see some beautiful scenery.
ReplyDeleteNo spring break as there are no young children in the family.
Sorry - meant to wish you and your family a wonderful Spring Break. It sounds terrific.
ReplyDeleteDo you know why Ashley changed her name to Elise?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your second blog birthday. I love coming to your blog because I never know what I'll find.
ReplyDeleteI'm not doing much of anything, same ole same ole. lol
Have fun on Spring Break!
Probably for Spring Break this year, my nephew (11) will most likely be staying with me. Hopefully by then this crazy weather here in Kentucky will have settled down. Deadly, destructive tornadoes 2 days this week and now snow tomorrow night. Definitely not a good time to be in KY.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2nd Anniversary.
Congrats on the milestone and happy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteAs for spring break, I don't have one but wish everyone who does have a good one :)
A HUGE congrats on your anniversary, Kim! I love SOS Aloha! And thank you so much for mentioning March Madness. =)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your second anniversary!!
ReplyDeleteSince I am now embarking on Autumn, Spring seems so far away.
Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy I found your blog.
